Overcoming Poverty Consciousness

Jan 28, 2022

The secret business killer no one tells you about is poverty consciousness.

Before we can transform poverty consciousness, we must understand what it is.

Poverty consciousness is the belief that there isn’t enough of anything to go around: not enough money, not enough time, not enough clients, relationships, rest, love – just about anything that you want or think you and others need, or that is important to you.

This belief system is embedded deep in us and is usually created from childhood experiences. It is a consciousness that is ruled by the belief that there is not enough, that you are not entitled to everything you want, and that money is a minimal resource in your life.

Poverty consciousness doesn’t have to do with how much money you make. You could be a millionaire and honestly believe you are not living an abundant life.

This consciousness is the silent business killer because whether you feel rich or poor depends entirely on your consciousness around money. If you believe you do not have enough, I hate to break it to you, but you won’t.

Once you go into the lack mindset, everything in your life will become lacking.

Poverty consciousness keeps you trapped in the false belief that you do not have everything you need.

If you have a consciousness focused on abundance, you will feel fabulous no matter your financial circumstances.

Here are three ways to transform poverty consciousness into abundance consciousness

1: Identity what is true

-Abundance has nothing to do with how much money you have.

Start by practicing appreciation when you want to dive into the lack and the not enough mindset.

“I attract the clients who will build my business.”

“I have a thriving and growing clientele.”

“My salon is filled with success and growth.”

Prosperity is not just having things. It is the consciousness that attracts the things. Prosperity is a way of living and thinking, and not just having money or things. Poverty is a way of living and thinking, and not just a lack of money or things.

2: Learn to share

 - One of the best ways to transform poverty consciousness is by sharing.

Business owners with a poverty consciousness are often obsessed with protecting their money. They tend to hoard it or obsess over it. They are always worried about Losing.

Learn to let go of the power of money as ahold of us. We need to shift and think I am not the owner of this money I am the manager, and I decided where it goes.

One way to remove the hold money has over us is by donating it. We suggest starting with 1% of your annual profits to a charity that you believe in and representing your business values.

3: Find your fulfillment

When we shift from constantly chasing money to chasing what fulfills us, our life will become more abundant.

When you find your passion and live it, money will always result from that action.

Not only does it take your energy and attention off money, but it leads you to a more meaningful life.

Poverty consciousness stops you from living the life you want to live because of the belief of “I need to make money.”

Live the life we want so we can create the money we need.
